8/19/2023 0 Comments Safari icon aesthetic white![]() ![]() There is nothing "Safari" about Safari's icon, or indeed the app at all. iTunes has a big musical note on the icon, but I've never thought that the App Store & Game Center icons were particularly great - although the GC icon was somewhat representative before, it's definitely got worse. I wouldn't expect iTunes to go anywhere but otherwise their properties are named simply and descriptively: "App Store" and "Game Center". iChat has gone (although FaceTime is still a brand) as has iMessage - it's just Messages now. ![]() The simplicity and minimalism of Apple's design approach covers their naming and they are not afraid of retiring branded products. Looking at the app icons together you can see that they are mostly unbranded and functionally named, such as "Maps" & "Stocks". I increasingly think that the presentation of Safari is all wrong on iOS. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc. If you'd like to view their content together, click here.
